Day 07: 29th May, 2012- Issyk-kul Lake, Kyrgyzstan

I got up at 8.00 a.m. and prepared myself a cup of tea. There was nothing to eat for the breakfast today. Bayastan was to come at 1.00 p.m. I got ready, packed both the rucksacks and then found that there was no hot water in the bathroom. Later when the cleaning woman came, she showed me that electric plug from the entrance, wire was removed. Probably policeman who came first might be  using mobile charger and they removed it. Anyhow I decided to take bath by using hot water from the gas. There was a container for heating water and a bucket. I cleaned it again with plastic long handle saucer three times and there was enough water. I took bath and then went down. There is a good market. I drank Kirgyi National Drink which is available at many places. I bought three large containers, one of cold tea and two of sour curd diluting with water by churning. The containers also have churners which the seller keeps on making occasionally, one is red and one is blue coloured, one for 8 Som and other for 9 Som small glass.
I drank yesterday also with Bayastan when we were going to Indian Embassy. Then I went to internet cafe and wrote day 4. I stopped till the theft. One hour got over and I came back to the room. Before that I ate one cheese patty from the shop where we bought patties last night. It was now tasteless.
In my room, I watched T.V. An Indian (South Indian) movie with Russian translation was coming. Here people know Mithun Chakraborty, Raj Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan and also Amitabh Bachchan. India Film Music has good influence here like many other countries. When I was coming to the flat, the wife of the owner, was also climbing stairs with some other girl. I was behind them. I gave her Bayastan’s Number and she called. Bayastan told her that he would come at 1.30 p.m. and I should meet him outside. He could not explain to me properly. I asked him to tell this to the lady. This lady again came at 1.30 p.m. with another young girl. I think both were her daughters. She knew a little English. New generation in Schools is reading English. The woman took the keys and we came down. She led me to the road and Bayastan was there. He was with another young friend, ex-Police. Now we drove to an internet Cafe and spent for about 1 hr to find out more about Dostan. They had no luck. I told them to go for Gala.
They  found something and we drove again. They came to theatre. On one wall, there were large photos of artists. I recognized Gala. Bayastan again did some good detective work and found her phone number. He telephoned her and asked her to come within 30 minutes. We were now waiting. Gala came with her 4 years young son. She said hello and expressed shocked how Dostan has done. Now Bayastan took her to one side and interrogated her. Then Damira came. She gave her papers to write her statement. Now it was windy outside. Bayastan got me a glass of bear and told me to relax. He also ordered Shashikis. We moved down to the Bar and restaurant. The food was expensive and not filling also. I paid 800 Som for the food. Gala left after giving her statement and took my card also. It was raining outside. We again came to the Police Station. I had come in the day time also when Damira joined us and took me to meet some officers. But he was not there.
Now we were in Theatre seating. After that we sat in the car and leave Damira to Police Station. Then an actual drama started. Damira acted as Gala and phoned Dostan. He responded the phone call. Damira and she was coming to Karawztal town and shall meet him. Dostan said that he is now with grandparents in a village which is 100 kms from Karawatal. Next time he would meet her. Either he was trying to be clever or telling the truth. This strategy also did not work. He probably took the stolen goods to his village rather than to his mother’s place. We were planning to go to Karawatal if this plan succeeded. We came to Bayastan House. It was raining heavily. Damira took his car. Bayastan’s wife also came at the same time by taxi from her father’s place. It was post midnight. We came to a Dining room which was large enough with 10 chairs and a table. Bayastan’s wife brought some food. These circular bread, jam, apple syrup, tea and then cabbage- potato soup. Bayaston father is also diabetic. It was at about 2.30 am. when we came out in rains. After walking some length, Damira came in the car. Bayaston’s friend Junoo (Yunas) was also there. He did not want to come. Bayastan asked to request which I did and he agreed to come. First we went to his house. The road was quite bad. He picked up few clothes and joined us. I think the next destination is Issankul lake.
