According to my original plan, I was to stay in Baku for two days and then proceed to Guncha or Sheiki to Tbilisi. But due to the presiding conditions, I decided that it would be better to leave for Tbilisi by the 18th and cross over to Azerbaijan by the 19th. So after a heavy breakfast, I decided to go to the Railway station. I was given a map of the city by Nismi which proved of great help. Without any problems, I reached the metro and boarded a train to the next station, which was the Central Railway Station. The metro here was of simple design. The metro in Tashkent was better and even the stations were artistically made. When I reached my station I followed the English signs and bought a 2nd class ticket in a 4 berth coupe for 27 mannat. In five minutes, my passport was checked and my ticket was booked. The efficiency had impressed me. Then I went up to the platform and sat at an open air restaurant. For 1 manat, I enjoyed 4 big glasses of tea. Then I called Nishi and was given all the updates. She had given my phone number to Shashi who said she would send a mail. I had dinner at the Napolean, soup and pizza.
