Day 55 : 16th July, 2012- Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Mornings are beautiful when it rains. I had to exchange money so I had to go down. It was still drizzling at 9 a.m.  in the morning. I could not take my umbrella and missed it as this was the only chance to use it in last so many days.

The nearest was a Post office. I exchanged 150 Euro at the rate of 1.9558 KM and paid 1% commission. While coming back it suddenly became cold. I quickly grabbed two packets of soups, bread and tomatoes for my breakfast and lunch. And rushed back to the hostel. I took out the only jacket left in my rucksack. I returned 20 KM that I borrowed from Zoka and thanked him. Zoka had prepared Omelet, bread with ham and cheese for the breakfast. Edin was to settle the accounts in the evening.

Zoka helped me in doing with laundry. He gave me some washing powder to wash my clothes. I could iron just one shirt as the rest of them are still wet. It remained cloudy the whole day. It wasn’t raining too much but the temperature had fallen down. I was mostly sitting and working on the computer or resting in the room. I had decided to stay one more day here. It is very relaxing and gave me a chance to know more about this country and its past. I am sure its future is good and progressive. I will go to Mostar which is an important city in Herzegovina.

Edin found out for me that the bus departures at a gap of an hour from Sarajevo. It will take 3 hours or so but the entire journey is by the side of a canyon. Edin has showed some pictures of the route that are truly beautiful. Edin is very good in filming and video editing. He is also teaching on a part time basis in the University. He will download all photos of my camera on a 4 GB pen drive and will give it to me before I leave. This is better than sending them through mail. Three more people came in the car from Graz, Austria. Danish boy brought another friend to stay in the hostel.

In the evening, Edin gave me the bill for my 4 nights stay. It is 130 KM with taxes. Almost 66 Euros. This is not bad at all, considering that I am also having breakfast which is not included in the tariff. Tea, coffee and mostly all my food. I am also occupying a full room with en suite facilities. It seems a good deal.

There is a sweet smell in the air. It is inspiring me to look forward for a good time travelling to Sarajevo. Today I am sleeping late tonight.
